Borrowing and returning books
Borrow and return
For loans, use the machine located by the entrance to the library. For returns, use the machine located to the right after entering the library. When the library is closed, you can use the return box outside the library. The return box is emptied in the morning on the days that the library is open. You may return books borrowed at our other libraries.

Books for pickup
Books that you have ordered or queued for can be found on the shelf marked “Requested books” on the right side of the information desk (ground floor).
Interlibrary loans and articles
Interlibrary loan books and copies of articles can be picked up at the information desk during library opening hours.
Finding your way in the collections
Food and drink
- No food is allowed in the library.
- Water and coffee are allowed if you have a top on your cup or bottle.
- There is a café, lunch restaurant, and a pantry with microwave ovens in other parts of the building.
Spektrum
Spektrum is a flexible teaching room in the Karin Boye Library on floor 0. The room has six desktop computers with various kinds of software for data processing and analysis.
Computers for the Swedish newspapers database
On Floor 0 (entrance floor), there is a computer with full access to the National Library of Sweden's database Svenska dagstidningar (the Swedish newspapers database). The computer is bookable between 09.00 and 12.00. Outside these hours you may use it without booking. You can also book a computer at the Carolina Library or at the Library for Economic Sciences.
