You will need a library card to order material from our library catalogues. Fill in the form below and get your library card at your first visit at the library's central information desk.
How to get access to the Special Collections Reading Rooms
In the Special Collections Reading Room (Carolina Rediviva, main floor), you can study manuscripts, music collections, early printed books from before 1851, various special collections, larger prints and materials that must be handled extra carefully. Special Collections Reading Room opening hours.
In the Special Collections Reading Room for Maps and Pictures, you can study maps, drawings, engravings and lithographs etc. Visits are by appointment only.
- You need a library card to request materials to the Special Collections Reading Rooms.
- Visitors residing in non-Nordic countries must produce their passports upon their first visit. For EU citizens from countries that are a part of the Schengen Agreement, proof of nationality is sufficient.
- Passport and other identity documents may be kept by the librarian on duty during your visit in the reading rooms.
- All visitors to the Special Collections Reading Rooms must sign the visitors' register and note their time of arrival. On leaving, whether temporarily or finally, the visitor must sign out and enter the time.
You also have to comply to the general rules in the Special Collections Reading Rooms.
