The toolbar is available for Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari and Chrome (beta).
Download Uppsala University Library's toolbar and it will position itself in the head of your web browser. It will always be visible on your own computer giving you direct access to important Library resources even if you are working outside the University's network.

Can I read the Library's e-journals from home via the toolbar?
Yes, if you belong to Uppsala University. In that case the toolbar provides you with free access to virtually all the Library's e-journals and databases, even the ones we subscribe to. If you are outside the University's network and click on an icon in the toolbar you'll automatically go to the University's login page. When you've logged in you'll have full access to all the e-journals and other databases that the Library buys.
What are the system requirements?
NOTE: To install the toolbar you need to have administrator rights on your computer. It is usually not a problem on a private computer. A work computer, for example within UU, usually require that you contact your IT department.
You can use the toolbar with:
- Microsoft Windows (Vista/XP/2000), Mac or Linux
- Internet Explorer 6.0+, eller Firefox 1.0+
- The toolbar also works with several other systems, but with certain limitations. With Mac or Linux: use Firefox.

Can I adapt the toolbar to my own needs?
Yes, partly. You can take away the short cuts you don't need. You can also add components and gadgets which accompany the software - calculator, radio, the daily news, an e-mail notifier, translation help, Google maps, Wikipedia search etc. Use the dropdown menu Uppsala UB
Then select Toolbar options or Gadgets.
