At the University Library you can make copies and printouts yourself. You can also get help from the Section for Photographic Services at Carolina Rediviva, when for example you want copies from fragile or cumbersome items or digital pictures.
N.B. Copyright law forbids the copying of entire works for private use. The law allows only photographic copies, i.e. copies on paper and fax copies. Electronic transmission of copyright protected items for an end user is not permissible.
Korint - photocopies and printouts at Uppsala University
The University has introduced a photocopying and printout system called Korint to print out, make photocopies and scan documents. You can print out from laptops. Initially the system will only be available for students at Uppsala University. When the system is fully operative in 2010 it will include all library users. However printouts from micromedia may well take longer to integrate into the system.
Payment is done online using PayEx.

Copying
Library users can make copies for private use and for research on a number of photocopiers in the subject libraries. There are however certain restrictions (see "Copyright law" above and "Restrictions" below).
Use of personal cameras and scanners is not allowed. Such work must be carried out by the staff at the Photographic Services.
Micromedia
There are microfilm and microfiche readers and printers (for paper copies) at Carolina Rediviva, the Library for Economic Sciences and at the Karin Boye Library.
Restrictions
Mainly for reasons of conservation, the Library does not allow its users to copy certain works or groups of works. This prohibition applies for instance to manuscripts, music scores, items that are larger than A3, rigidly bound books and other fragile items. These kinds of materials can be copied wherever possible by the staff at the Photographic Services.
Publication fees
Fees will be charged for the use of the cultural heritage collections in new publications. There are specific agreements for publishing entire works or the greater part of a work or collection. No library user category is automatically exempted from paying such fees. The Library does not accept responsibility for possible claims from a copyright holder or from a person on a photograph. Wherever there are copyright issues connected to the use of a work, written permission must be obtained from the copyright holder.
Orders from the Photographic Services
When ordering from the Section for Photographic Services, give the names and addresses in full for all those involved in the order and its payment.
You may pay by card. See the Photographic Services' prices.
