Books

Search in the Uppsala University Library Catalogue or in the Swedish national catalogue LIBRIS. You can also search for e-books and older literature online.

  • Uppsala University Library Catalogue - search for books and e-books in the Library. Older works that are not found there may well be found for example in Catalogue 1962.
  • A minority of the Library's books can only be found in an earlier version of the Library's online catalogue. Search in DISA for these books.
  • Catalogue 1962 - search for books at Uppsala University Library, published before 1962. If you need something older than 1976 and cannot find it in DISA - continue your search in Catalogue 1962.
  • Aurivillius (Pehr Fabian Aurivillius, Catalogus Bibliothecae Regiae Academiae Upsaliensis) - a catalogue of books and journals held at the Uppsala University Library prior to 1797. A large part of the material is in Catalogue 1962, so start your search there.
  • Inventariet - books and journals held at the Library prior to 1797, listed by inventory  numbers. It is used in conjunction with the Aurivillius Catalogue.
  • Bibliotheca Walleriana This is a catalogue for older printed medical and scientific works in the Waller Collection.
  • LIBRIS - search for books at Swedish universities and colleges of higher education.
  • E-books - read a book on your screen. As a student or member of staff at Uppsala University you have access to a large number of e-books.

  • AfricaLit (NOAK)  - search in the Nordic Africa Institute Library catalogue
  • Argus - find books for your courses in the Uppsala "student nation" libraries. In Swedish only, but give it a try.

Old catalogues

Sometimes you will need to use the Library's printed and handwritten catalogues to look for early imprints and special collections, manuscripts, music, maps and pictures.
