If you are 18 years or older, you are welcome to borrow from us. Uppsala University Library is open to everybody but its primary task is to serve the students and staff at Uppsala University.
You will need a library card to reserve, request and borrow books. Library cards are valid at all the subject libraries at the Uppsala University Library.
If you don't have a library card you can apply for one online: Patron self registration. Then collect your card at your nearest subject library. You will need to show proof of your identity.

- You are responsible for returning your loans on time
- You must inform the Library when you change your postal and e-mail addresses

- Set course books (Course collections) are available either as reference copies, 7 day loans or 1 day loans
- In-house loans may be used only inside the Library
Renew your loans
- You can renew your loans by logging in in the Library's online catalogue
- Researchers and postgraduate students may renew each loan twice, all others may renew each loan just once
- You may not renew books that have been reserved by someone else
Overdue books
- Reminders and other messages are sent primarily by e-mail
- You will receive a recall notice when you have had a book too long or if someone else is waiting for it
- If you do not return or renew a loan within 18 days after the first recall notice, you must pay a processing fee of SEK 250 for each item.
