A large part of Uppsala University Library's older collections printed up to and including 1796 are listed in Pehr Fabian Aurivillius' Catalogus librorum impressorum Bibliothecae Regiae Academiae Upsaliensis.
This is a printed catalogue in two parts, an alphabetic listing of authors and a second part for anonymous works. The latter is arranged according to subject.
A working copy of the Aurivillius catalogue is held in the Library's Special Reading Room. The handwritten details in the margins are used in conjunction with a handwritten inventory to find shelf marks for locating items.
Both the Aurivillius catalogue and the Inventariet are now available online. The items can then be read in the Special Reading Room.
