The collection of school textbooks is a special collection of textbooks from the 17th century up to the present. The newest material is on the shelves of the Library for Educational Research and Studies, arranged according to subject and school class. The older material is kept in closed stacks and can be brought out when needed. The textbook collection is first and foremost a reference collection but in certain cases there are copies available for students, lecturers and researchers involved in teacher training. The loan period is such cases is 30 days.
Some older school textbooks are also in the collections at the Carolina Library. These are primarily textbooks in History and Swedish.
